Best $10 iPhone 7 Case? Spigen Ultra Hybrid Review

As much as I’d love to keep my iPhone 7 naked, it’s just not a smart thing to do. Since I want to keep my iPhone in mint condition to sell later, I need a case.

The Spigen Ultra Hybrid has been my primary case for the past four iPhone models because it’s everything I want in a case: good protection, low price, minimal, and clear.

I got it for about $10 on Amazon. This is the Crystal Clear version, but it also comes in other bumper colors. It’s made of thermoplastic polyurethane so it’s not a hard plastic, but instead it’s firm and flexible. It covers the back, the top and bottom, and the sides of the iPhone 7. It has all the precise cutouts for the lightning port, speakers, new grill, and new camera.

It’s very easy to put on, just insert the iPhone 7 top first and then snap it in at all four corners. One of the good things about the Spigen Ultra Hybrid is that it has a slightly raised lip on the front to protect the iPhone 7 display when it lays face-down on a surface. It also has the same type of small lips on the back of the case at each four corners so that the case doesn’t get easily scratched when it’s moved around.

The iPhone 7 power and volume buttons have protection with this case and I’ve always appreciated the Ultra Hybrid’s ease of pushing the buttons and the tactile feedback that it gives.

The Air Cushion technology on all 4 corners of the case absorbs most of the impact during small-to-medium drops. I’ve never experienced any damage to my iPhones during the past 3 years when using this case. I do try to be very careful with my phone so it starts there, but I do drop it from time to time when getting out of my car or when I’m pulling my iPhone out of my pocket so it does handle drops up to 4 feet very well.

The biggest question that comes up is “Does the case turn yellow over time?”

Well, this is my old Spigen Ultra Hybrid iPhone 6s case on the left compared to the new Ultra Hybrid iPhone 7 case on the right. You can see that, yes, the case did change color ever so slightly over time. The change mostly occurred on the bumper part of the case.

The 6s case on the left was used for a year and that’s what you can expect the color to look like after a year’s worth of use without any washing or cleaning. It’s not extremely discolored. The slight yellowing over time never really bothered me because as you can see when it’s on the phone it’s not a huge problem, at least for me anyway.

I think for $10 the Spigen Ultra Hybrid iPhone 7 case is great, and if you’re looking for an affordable minimal clear case that offers decent protection I think you’ll love it.

Best iPhone 6 Case? Spigen Ultra Hybrid Review

This may be the best iPhone 6 case if you’re looking for an affordable slim case with good protection. This is my review of the 4.7″ Spigen Ultra Hybrid for the iPhone 6.

The reason I bought the Spigen Ultra Hybrid for my iPhone 6 is because I had the same exact case for my 5s and I loved it. My 5s is still in perfect condition thanks to that case so let’s go over the best features of this new Spigen Ultra Hybrid for the iPhone 6. It’s called a Hybrid because it’s a perfect blend of a slim bumper and a full enclosed case, so you get good overall protection for your iPhone while keeping it slim and not adding much bulkiness. This case has a transparent back and this is the crystal clear model where the bumper is clear too, but they do have other colors available for the bumper. I love having a clear back because it shows off that nice iPhone design while keeping it protected at the same time. Now if you get this case please remember to peel off the clear protective film on the inside and outside of the case. A lot people don’t realize that there are 2 clear sheets on this case and they think that the case is scratched, but really it’s just the clear film that needs to be removed. Once the 2 sheets are removed the case is crystal clear with no scratches. It’s made of a soft yet strong thermoplastic polyurethane so it’s flexible enough to be able to put the phone in easily but also durable enough to provide good protection. It has Air Cushion Technology on the corners of the case so if you drop your phone the air cushion absorbs most of the impact in order to keep your phone safe. It raises up just enough on the front so you can lay your phone face-down on a surface and not worry about it scratching the screen. It also has the same feature on the back where the 4 corners are slightly raised so you don’t scratch or smudge the clear back panel of the case when you move it around on a surface. It has all the precise cutouts for the headphone jack, microphone, lightning port, speakers, and vibrate switch. The volume buttons and power button are protected and have embossed symbols so you can feel where they are. The buttons are pretty easy to press and you can feel and hear when they are pressed which is nice. The cutouts for the lightning port and headphone jack are actually big enough to support most third party accessories like certain headphones or docks. The grip is pretty good too, and it does feel nice in the hands. As far as the protection goes, it handles small to medium drops very well, just like the previous version. So if you’re not careless with your phone for the most part but you have the occasional drop when getting out of your car or walking like I do, this case will provide good enough protection for that. Overall, this case is perfect for people who want something slim that offers good protection while showing off the back of the iPhone 6. Also it’s a lot cheaper than the Apple case. This is my primary case and it is highly recommended. I hope this video helped you out and helps you find your perfect iPhone 6 case!

I’m on my quest to find the best iPhone 5s case, and this case might take that honor. This is the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case for the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5. I got this case on Amazon for a very good deal. If you click the link above that will take you to this product page on Amazon. You can get this case for $10 with free shipping right now. It’s a very affordable case that also comes with good protection (and looks good too.) The Spigen Ultra Hybrid case fits the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5. Now let’s take a look at the case itself.

It comes in 2 colors: gray and black. They call it the hybrid because it’s a mix between a regular bumper and a full case. It has a hard clear plastic backing but also comes with good protection that you would expect from a regular full case. It also has the minimalistic feel and small form factor of a small bumper. Let’s look at the rest of the accessories that come in the box. It comes with an original authenticity serial number ticket, a small instruction sheet that reminds you to take off the plastic sheetings on the front and back of the case. It also comes with a free ultra crystal clear screen protector, which is optional. Last but not least it comes with 2 free graphic design templates that you can put on the inside of the case to add some flair and flavor to your case. You can also order more graphic design templates from Spigen or you can even make your own. So that’s a nice little customizable feature there with the Spigen case.

Now let’s put this case on my iPhone 5s and I’ll show you what it looks like and how it feels. Put in your button-side first. It snaps right on there. The case goes on very easily. On the side it has an open space for your vibrate switch so you have easy access to that. It has protection for your volume controls. On the top it has protection for your power button. On the other side it has the Spigen logo. It has the cutouts for your headphone jack, microphone, lightning connector, and speakers. On the back it has that hard clear plastic backing. The cutout for the camera gives enough room for the new True Tone flash dual LED setup that the new iPhone 5s has. The case does not affect the flash at all.

Here are the things I like most about this case. The buttons are easy to press. You don’t have to add any additional force to press the buttons through the case. It gets very tactile and responsive feedback from the buttons when you press them. It has surface protection. The case raises up just enough in the front so you can lay the phone face down on a surface without damaging the screen. It has the same feature on the back so you don’t scratch up or get any smudges on the clear plastic. Also on the outside of the bumper it’s built with air cushion technology on all four corners. It’s supposed to handle the impact of drops very well.

The case is made from thermoplastic polyurethane so it feels good in the hands. It’s sleek but not slippery and provides pretty good grip. It’s not sticky like rubber. The cutouts for the ports and buttons are very precise. The bottom is very slim so it can fit third-party accessories like docks. Overall I think this is a fantastic iPhone 5s case. It’s perfect for people who don’t want to add bulkiness to their iPhone. It’s very slim, very sleek, minimalistic, and allows the back of the iPhone to be shown through the clear plastic backing. It offers very good protection for how small it is so you can you can drop it without worrying. It handles small to medium drops very well. You probably don’t want this if you’re going to be dropping it a lot from long distances, but for most people this will provide enough protection to keep your iPhone 5s or iPhone 5 safe. I hope you enjoyed my review over the Spigen Ultra Hybrid iPhone 5s case!
