Best iPhone 6 Case? Spigen Ultra Hybrid Review

This may be the best iPhone 6 case if you’re looking for an affordable slim case with good protection. This is my review of the 4.7″ Spigen Ultra Hybrid for the iPhone 6.

The reason I bought the Spigen Ultra Hybrid for my iPhone 6 is because I had the same exact case for my 5s and I loved it. My 5s is still in perfect condition thanks to that case so let’s go over the best features of this new Spigen Ultra Hybrid for the iPhone 6. It’s called a Hybrid because it’s a perfect blend of a slim bumper and a full enclosed case, so you get good overall protection for your iPhone while keeping it slim and not adding much bulkiness. This case has a transparent back and this is the crystal clear model where the bumper is clear too, but they do have other colors available for the bumper. I love having a clear back because it shows off that nice iPhone design while keeping it protected at the same time. Now if you get this case please remember to peel off the clear protective film on the inside and outside of the case. A lot people don’t realize that there are 2 clear sheets on this case and they think that the case is scratched, but really it’s just the clear film that needs to be removed. Once the 2 sheets are removed the case is crystal clear with no scratches. It’s made of a soft yet strong thermoplastic polyurethane so it’s flexible enough to be able to put the phone in easily but also durable enough to provide good protection. It has Air Cushion Technology on the corners of the case so if you drop your phone the air cushion absorbs most of the impact in order to keep your phone safe. It raises up just enough on the front so you can lay your phone face-down on a surface and not worry about it scratching the screen. It also has the same feature on the back where the 4 corners are slightly raised so you don’t scratch or smudge the clear back panel of the case when you move it around on a surface. It has all the precise cutouts for the headphone jack, microphone, lightning port, speakers, and vibrate switch. The volume buttons and power button are protected and have embossed symbols so you can feel where they are. The buttons are pretty easy to press and you can feel and hear when they are pressed which is nice. The cutouts for the lightning port and headphone jack are actually big enough to support most third party accessories like certain headphones or docks. The grip is pretty good too, and it does feel nice in the hands. As far as the protection goes, it handles small to medium drops very well, just like the previous version. So if you’re not careless with your phone for the most part but you have the occasional drop when getting out of your car or walking like I do, this case will provide good enough protection for that. Overall, this case is perfect for people who want something slim that offers good protection while showing off the back of the iPhone 6. Also it’s a lot cheaper than the Apple case. This is my primary case and it is highly recommended. I hope this video helped you out and helps you find your perfect iPhone 6 case!

Best External DVD Drive for Mac & PC: Samsung SE-218CB

Looking for a cheaper SuperDrive alternative? This right here is all you need. It’s the Samsung SE-218CB/RSBS USB Ultra Portable External DVD Writer, and it’s the best external DVD drive for Mac and Windows. Why is it the best? Well it’s affordable, portable, recordable, and supportable. Let me explain.

It’s affordable because it’s less than $30 with free shipping on Amazon.

It’s portable because it’s slim (only 5.83″ x 0.55″ x 5.67″) and it’s USB-powered meaning it doesn’t require a separate power cable.

It’s recordable because it can burn all kinds of discs such as CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD-R dual layer just to name a few.

It’s supportable because it works right out of the box with Mac OS X, Windows 7, and Windows 8 (even works with older versions of Windows too). It comes with a USB cable, which is really all you need to get started. Just plug it in and it’s ready to go.

It does have some pretty fast read/write speeds too, with an average of 3MB per second read speed. I also like the way it looks. It has a sleek back design, and it’s pretty lightweight. So if you’re looking for one of the best external DVD drives for less than half the cost of a SuperDrive, then this is a great choice.

2014 MacBook Air Review: Best Laptop for Students

This is my review of the new 2014 MacBook Air. I’m going to go ahead and quickly say in my personal opinion this is the best laptop for students or people on the go. Now let’s get into the full review so I can show you why that is. The 2014 MacBook Air is an absolute beast when it comes to portability. It’s sleek. It’s slim. It’s lightweight, but at the same time it’s fast and powerful enough for the casual user. It comes in 2 different sizes: 11” or 13” and those come in 2 different variations as well. You can either get a 128GB hard drive or a 256GB hard drive, and those are both solid state drives.

The one I’m reviewing is the 13 inch model with the 256GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. Now let’s start off with the processor. The Air sports a 1.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 2.7 GHz. That means the normal CPU speed is 1.4 GHz, but when it needs more processing power for heavy applications the Turbo Boost kicks in and it goes all the way up to 2.7 GHz. This is why you can consistently get over 11 hours of battery life on this 13″ model. The ridiculously long battery life is one of the main reasons why this laptop is perfect for students who may have classes all day long.

The 256 GB SSD has extremely fast read/write speeds so you can copy huge files within seconds. The 128 GB hard drive is a little slower than that, but it’s still fast because it is an SSD. The overall workflow on the 2014 MacBook Air is snappy. Apps start up quickly without slow load times. Though I did notice that when you’re booting the laptop up from a cold boot it’s slower than I expected, but the wake from sleep is instantaneous.

Of course this is an Apple Mac laptop so you get all the perks that come along with that. You get Mac OS X with all the built-in iLife apps, responsive chicklet keyboard with backlights, smooth and clickable multi-touch trackpad, FaceTime HD webcam, magnetic power adapter, thunderbolt port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a headphone jack, dual microphones, an SDXC card reader on the 13″ model, and of course the illuminated fruit on the back.

This is a MacBook Air so this shouldn’t be a surprise, but this thing is extremely portable. It’s quiet because there is no spinning hard drive inside. It’s lightweight, weighing in at less than 3 pounds, and the 11″ model is even lighter than that. It is super thin at 0.68 inches at its widest and down to 0.11 inches at its thinnest. The built-in speakers seem pretty loud to me so you should be able to jam out to your #ThrowbackThursday Spotify playlist with no problem.

Having said all that, there are a couple negatives about this laptop. I don’t like the fact that you cannot add RAM yourself. The RAM is actually soldered onto the motherboard so whatever RAM that you choose at checkout (4GB or 8GB) that’s what you’re stuck with for the life of it. But for the casual user that shouldn’t be a big deal. Also the 2014 MacBook Air does not have a Retina display, which is kind of a bummer. The native resolution on the 13″ is 1440 by 900 which is not even full 1080p HD. Other than that, I’m a huge fan of everything else about this laptop.

The pros of this laptop are it’s a good value. It’s less than $1,000 and that’s pretty standard nowadays for a nice laptop that should last you at least 4-5 years. The portability aspect is great. It’s super lightweight and small. It’s probably the most portable laptop available as of right now. Of course with an Apple MacBook you’re going to get an aesthetically pleasing design. I’ts everlasting. The battery life is extremely long. You can go all day with this and not worry about it dying. It’s high quality and quite powerful for its size. The cons for this laptop: again you can’t add RAM yourself and it doesn’t have a Retina display.

Bottom line this is perfect for for college students, high school students, law school students, or just people who are on the go in general. If you travel a lot or if you frequent coffee shops, this is perfect for you. You’re going to love this laptop, highly recommended.

Audio Technica ATR2100 USB/XLR Microphone Review

Audio Technica ATR2100 Microphone Review & Test

You know me, I’m always looking for the best deal on the best quality products, and this is dang near the best USB/XLR microphone you can get for such a low price. This is my review and test of the Audio Technica ATR2100 microphone. As always the link to the best price on Amazon for this mic will be in the description below. In the box you have the ATR2100 microphone, a mini tripod desk stand, a threaded stand clamp, a USB cable, and an XLR cable.

Let’s do a quick overview of the mic then we’ll do a sound quality test comparison. This is a dynamic microphone that is a great option for people who want to do voiceovers, podcasts, or even singing. Its versatility and build quality are outstanding. It’s made of a nice looking and durable silver metal. It can either be held in the hand or put in the clamp and attached to any standard mic stand. It is one of the few microphones that has both USB and XLR connections. This is super convenient because it can be plugged into any computer (Windows or Mac) via the USB connection and start recording right away. Then if you ever upgrade to a mixer or need to use it on any other analog equipment you can use the XLR connection and not have to purchase a new mic.

Some of the key features include the built-in headphone jack for live audio monitoring, a low mass diaphragm providing excellent frequency response, and the cardioid pattern reduces pickup of unwanted sound in the background. All of these qualities result in a smooth high-quality sound recording. So far the audio in this video has been recorded with the ATR2100 mic so now I want to show you a comparison between the ATR2100 and my webcam’s microphone. I’m now recording with my webcam’s mic and you can probably already tell a huge difference in quality. Let’s go ahead and switch back to the ATR2100.

Now I’m back on the ATR2100, thank goodness. One thing I would recommend when you order the this mic is to also get this foam wind screen. It’s only a couple dollars, and I’ll leave a link to this in the description as well. This slips right onto the ATR2100 mic and will improve the recording quality by eliminating the pops from your P’s and S’s. so you can get a clean crisp audio recoding every time. So that is my review and test of the Audio Technica ATR2100 microphone. Obviously one of the best budget microphones, and arguably one of the best microphones overall. Again the link to the best price on Amazon will be in the description below. Make sure you give this video a thumbs up if it helped you out, and subscribe to my channel for more tech reviews. Thanks for watching. Keep having fun out there, and I’ll talk to you later.

This is my review of the Audio Technica ATH M50 headphones – the best over ear headphones for the money. So before you go out and drop this month’s rent on a pair of Beats headphones, you’ll want to consider buying these instead. So as always, the link to the best price on Amazon is in the description below. Why are these the best headphones for the money? Well currently they are the #1 Best Seller for DJ Headphones on Amazon and you can get a pair for just over $100, and at such a low price you get amazing sound quality, comfort, portability, and design. The M50’s come in 3 colors: black, white, and this limited edition red. First off, the most important aspect is the sound quality which is nearly flawless. They have a super clear and crisp audio that exemplifies a very natural sound. The bass is not overbearing, and the mids and highs are smooth. They do a great job at blocking external noise as well so they are good in the noise cancelling department. They are very comfortable, with a good bit of padding on the top and soft cushioning on the ear cups as well. So you can wear them for an extended period of time without worrying about them getting uncomfortable. The build quality is also fantastic, and they are extremely adjustable. You can adjust them to fit any head size or shape, shout out to Arnold. They excel in portability as well with the collapse-and-fold feature, and they also come with a nice carrying pouch which is pretty convenient. They come with a coiled or straight cable, whichever you prefer. The cable has a 1/4″ adapter which can be unscrewed to reveal the regular 3.5mm connector that can be plugged into all the common headphone jacks found on smartphones and computers. So if you’re looking for some affordable high quality over ear headphones for any type of audio and video editing or even just casual music listening then the Audio Technica ATH M50’s are a must-have. Again the link to buy these at the best price will be in the description below. If this video was helpful please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel.
