2016 MacBook Pro 13″ Touch Bar & Touch ID Unboxing!

Hey guys, it’s Andy. This is the 2016 MacBook Pro, the 13” Space Gray model with a 512GB SSD and 8GB of RAM, and this is the Touch Bar and Touch ID model so we’ll take a look at both of those in this video. This model I have cost right around $2,000 US.

In the box we have the most important piece of equipment, the MacBook Pro itself. Not sure why I have to tell you that but hey I ain’t gonna lie to you. There’s not much else in the box, just the quick start guide, some Apple stickers, the power adapter with the USB-C port, and lastly the USB-C cable.

The first thing I noticed was that the MacBook Pro automatically powered on when I opened the lid. Now I don’t know if that’s a new feature of MacBook Pros because my last MacBook Pro purchase was over 7 years ago, but I thought that was interesting.

During the setup it asked me to place my finger on the Touch ID button and it works just like Touch ID on the iPhone and my fingerprint was registered in less than a minute. What’s weird though is that after a cold boot it did not let me sign on to the laptop with Touch ID. I had to enter my password which was strange because I thought we could use Touch ID to log in, not just unlock the MacBook Pro.

It’s really thin and light, something that Apple is making a priority with most of their laptops recently. However I would still prefer performance over mobility when it comes to the Pro models any day of the week.

It has 4 USB type C ports, 2 on the left side, and 2 on the right side along with, oh you guessed it, a headphone jack. Apple, where’s the courage?

Some of the most notable new features are the new Trackpad which is huge, and the good news is while I was typing, the Trackpad did not register the palms of my hands as clicks which is something I was concerned about but it seems to be a non-issue.

Speaking of typing, this has the new 2nd generation butterfly keyboard and I never owned a 1st-generation butterfly keyboard like on the 12” MacBook but I love this 2nd-gen keyboard. It feels great typing on it from the short time I’ve had it. I really enjoy it which is a nice surprise.

Lastly, the thing you’ve been wanting to see the most, the new Touch Bar. This is an OLED touch bar across the top of the keyboard that replaces the old physical function keys but also integrates with whatever app you have open and gives you a more customized and better experience according to its maker. I called this a gimmick in my previous video after the announcement was made, and I’ll see for sure if it is a gimmick or if it’s actually useful in the coming weeks when I’ll be sharing my full review video so be sure to subscribe to see that. From my short time with it so far it seems pretty cool. I think it will definitely be the most useful in Final Cut Pro when I’m editing videos. I’ll find out soon. iPhone 7 Unboxing + New Features

I just got back from the Apple store with the new iPhone 7 and this is my unboxing video where I’m going to let you see it up close and personal and quickly go over the new features for you.

The iPhone 7 now comes in 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB so the storage has doubled from the iPhone 6s. No more 16GB, thank goodness. The first thing you may notice is that the iPhone 7 comes in 2 new colors: black which is what I have here and jet black which has a glossy finish, and it also comes in silver, gold, and rose gold so no space gray this year.

Other than the phone itself, in the box you’ll find some stickers and quick start guides, the new Lightning EarPods with the 3.5mm to Lightning adapter since one of the biggest changes for the iPhone 7 is the removal of the headphone jack. Also in the box there’s the Lightning to USB cable and the power adapter.

I’m really liking the new matte black finish, it looks super sleek. Has kind of a Batman feel to it (the Christian Bale batman, not the Adam West batman).

So here’s how the iPhone 7 stacks up to last year’s iPhone 6s which I also have here, in the space gray color.

As far as design goes, it has the same 4.7” screen size and same resolution but the iPhone 7 has a new wide color gamut and the display is 25% brighter which helps on bright sunny days. The amount of RAM is still 2GB.

The iPhone 7 has a new solid state home button, so it’s no longer a physical button that presses, but instead it has a haptic engine that provides tactile feedback which I’m not gonna lie, feels kind of weird at first. I’m hoping I get used to it quickly because it is a definitely a different sensation compared to clicking a physical button.

The iPhone 7’s re-engineered enclosure now makes it dust and water resistant which is a first for iPhones. So you no longer should need a waterproof case if you plan on getting wet. The iPhone 7 should be able to withstand it by itself now.

As I previously mentioned, one of the biggest changes is the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom which has been replaced with another grill so you’ll probably want to get some Bluetooth headphones which is what I’ve been recommending for years now anyway. On the bright side, the iPhone 7 has stereo speakers, one on the bottom and one towards the top and the speakers are supposedly twice as loud than the iPhone 6s speaker.

The iPhone 7 is rocking Apple’s latest A10 fusion quad-core CPU which helps boost performance to twice as fast as the iPhone 6. It also helps battery life which has also improved due to the slightly bigger 1960mah battery that should give you around 2 more hours of use compared to the 6s.

The new camera on the 7 has the same amount of megapixels (12) but a larger aperture at f/1.8 and it’s also equipped with a new quad LED flash. It can record 4K and full HD slow motion like the 6s but the 7 has optical image stabilization built into it which was only on the Plus models last year.

The ever so popular front facing camera has been slightly improved to 7 megapixels, and last but not least the iPhone 7 does come with iOS 10 installed.

DJI Phantom 4 Review + Test Footage (4K)

This is the DJI Phantom 4, and it’s the best drone out right now especially for beginners. It’s not cheap but I think it’s worth every single penny. Why, you ask? Well simply put this thing is sleek, it’s high quality, it’s intelligent, it takes amazing videos and photos, and most importantly it’s so much fun. If you stick around to the end of the video you’ll get to see some of its best features in action and when you see the footage it can take you’ll most certainly want one for yourself.
When you first unbox the Phantom 4 you’ll see that it comes with a foam carrying case that has a built-in latch which is really convenient. In the case you’ll find the Phantom 4 itself, the remote controller, 8 propeller blades, the battery, the battery charger, quick start guides and some various cables. It also comes with a 16GB micro SD card to get you started.
You’ll first notice the simple design when installing the propeller blades which are very easy to put on, you just push and twist. It’s also nice that the battery charger can charge the remote controller and the drone battery at the same time. At 100% charge the new Phantom 4 can fly for almost 28 minutes which is 25% longer than the Phantom 3. Now, just to be safe I only fly mine for about 20-25 minutes each time, but the Phantom 4 is a “smart” drone so it will warn you when the battery is low and it can land itself if the battery reaches a critical low level.
The build quality of the Phantom 4 is pretty stunning. It feels solid but looks carefully polished. It’s not too heavy, and I was glad to find out I was able to carry it easily by gripping the top with just one hand.
Of course the most important physical feature of the Phantom 4 is the high performance camera. It has a newly designed lens and can capture 4K ultra HD videos at 30fps and 1080p full HD videos at 120fps for slow motion shots. It can also capture 12MP raw photos. So if the camera is Batman, that means the gimbal is Robin. The 3-axis gimbal has a specially designed u-frame structure that stabilizes the camera at all times giving you smooth cinematic video footage even in strong winds which you’ll see during the 2nd half of this video. Now when you get your Phantom 4 I highly recommend getting these ND filters for the camera. These allow you to record at a slower shutter speed in bright conditions which will be necessary if you’re trying to get a more cinematic film look. The Phantom 4 body is only half of the main package. The other half is the remote controller which is very easy to get used to if you’ve ever played video games. Basically the left stick moves the drone up, down, or turns it. The right stick moves the drone forward, backward, left, or right. The back of the controller allows you to switch between the multiple flight modes and do other things like control the camera tilt. The two antennas allow you to control the drone up to 3.1 miles away while still seeing the live preview on your smartphone or tablet.
The controller has an adjustable clasp that holds your tablet or smartphone in place. The required device can be any of the supported Android devices or any Apple device with iOS 8 or later. My only complaint is that I wish it did not require a cable going from the device to the controller. I was hoping it would connect via Bluetooth. Other than that the free DJI Go app is the only thing left to get you up and flying.
With the dual satellite positioning system and enhanced Vision Positioning System, flying the Phantom 4 is super easy. It will automatically avoid obstacles using its new sensors and GPS technology so beginners can start flying quickly with the new Intelligent Flight modes. But if you’re an experienced flyer on the other hand, the incredibly fast Sport Mode will get you excited.

iPhone 6 Unboxing & Hands-On

Hey guys what’s up? It’s Andy with MyTechMethods and this is my full iPhone 6 unboxing video. This is the iPhone 6, the brand new iPhone 6 not the 6 plus. And this is the unlocked T-Mobile version 64 GB space gray model. And let’s get right into this unboxing. I got my handy dandy Andy knife. We’re gonna see what kind of damage we can do to this box so let’s go ahead and slice it open here and we’ll see what the iPhone 6 looks like, give it a first look and hands-on with it. And listen to that plastic. Oh yeah sounds great. Love unboxing phones. That’s my favorite thing in the world. Alright let’s open this box and there we go. We got the new iPhone 6 right there, and we’re gonna pull the little plastic tab to pull it out of the box and there you go. Here’s a quick look at the iPhone 6 and we’re gonna go around the phone and just point out the basics. There’s a quick look at the back, got the Apple logo and of course it says iPhone at the bottom. And let’s take a look at the bottom of the phone. Of course we got the headphones jack, the microphone, the lightning connector, and the speakers. And there is the touch ID home button on the front. And there’s the vibrate switch and the volume rockers up-and-down, same that hasn’t changed. And the top, the power button is now on the side. So there’s nothing on the top and the power button is on the side along with the SIM card slot. There is the back of the phone and the new camera. As you can see it sticks out just a little bit on this new iPhone 6 so we’ll see how that works out. So let’s go ahead and take the plastic off this. This may be the best part of the unboxing right here. Nice and slow, there we go. Alright now we got the iPhone 6 naked, no plastic and it does look beautiful. The rounded edges are, I like the rounded edges so there’s a quick look at the back again. And we’re gonna power this up in a second. First let’s go over the rest of the contents that are in the iPhone 6 box. It shouldn’t be too much of a difference. Of course we got the quick start guide for the iPhone 6, and we have some more information on the iPhone. And we have the 2 big Apple stickers if you don’t have those already. And we got the power adapter along with the lightning to USB cable and the Apple ear buds, which probably won’t get used. Probably stay in the box. Alright put that to the side, and we’ll power the iPhone 6 on and get a closer look at it when it’s turned on and booted up into iOS. And I’m gonna speed this up just a little bit for the sake of this video. And here is the hello screen. You can set up your iPhone pretty quickly and now we are booted into iOS 8 on the new iPhone 6. And here’s a closer look. This is my iPhone 6 compared to my iPhone 5s. And you can see it’s a little bit of a difference, not that much bigger but it’s a noticeable difference. And there’s the back of it and you can see the iPhone 6 has a newer design on the back. And there is a closer look to see how thin the iPhone 6 is compared to the iPhone 5s which is pretty thin. So that was my quick unboxing of the new iPhone 6.
